Bipolar Disorder is a mental health condition that is characterized by extreme high and low moods and behavior. It is an illness that is often misunderstood and can be very serious if not treated properly. In an effort to help people understand it better, this book offers an overview of what Bipolar Disorder is and how it can be recognized, treated and managed.  Blue is the dominant color here, an effective one for conveying the low end of the mood spectrum, and several pages as well as the cover include duotone photographic images with expressive streaks of light to represent erratic and shifting moods. Orange represents the high end of the mood spectrum and is a complimentary color to blue. The word “Darkness” in the title is flipped upside down to represent the way moods shift and turn unexpectedly.
